TRANSITION HOME

The Transition Home is a dormitory for the poorest junior and high school girls from the mountain churches. The girls can live in the dormitory while they are  finishing their secondary education.

In Honduras 80% of the children drop out of school after the 6th grade either because of poverty ( per capita income is $1200/year) or because no schools offering an education past 6th grade are near by.

The girls are supervised, take their meals at the orphanage on campus and have chores on the campus.  The vision is to help them complete high school, and then perhaps attend the University classes on the campus.  The dormitory can house 24 young ladies, 7th-12th grades.
