History of Fuente de Vida

In 1986, a Dutch missionary named Andre Van Dinberg, came to central Honduras. God gave him a vision of reaching the mountain communities with the Good News of a personal relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ. To help achieve this goal, Andre helped disciple Yobani Alas.

Soon after, Andre died, but Yobani carried the vision forward.

In 1993 Pastor Yobani, started the Fuente de Vida (fountain of Life) Church. Since that time, over 25 churches have been planted by Fuente de Vida. God has also used Fuente de Vida to operate a school with over 125 of the poorest children of Taulabe.

Fuente de Vida is the host church for over 350 children of Compassion, International. These children are sponsored by people from other countries and cares fot the physical and spiritual needs of the children.

Fuente de Vida also operates an orphanage for 15 precious girls who were in abusive situations and now are being cared for full-time.

Fuente de Vida also had a Leaders School and over 75 leaders have been trained in Bible knowledge over the past 3 year. Soon FdV will open a home for Widows.

Honduras Fountain of Life is called to serve the Fuente de Vida Association as they follow their vision to care for the people of Taulabe. We are not about giving a hand-out, but rather a hand-up. We believe that the best way to make a long-term impact is by equipping the leadership in Taulabe so that they can reach their people.
